Pregnant Without a Due Date

Yep, that title is a popular way of describing how it feels to be in the process of adoption. So, as you can see from my side pic, I'm "pregnant" with paperwork, anxious to find out when we finally get to travel to China to get our beautiful baby girl. In the meantime, the kiddos and I are working on a lifebook for her. We're having lots of fun as we put together special mementos, pictures, drawings, etc. It does help to pass the time. :)

Easter 2009

Easter Activities with Nana

We were so happy to have Nana hunting eggs and making crafts with us!

Easter Activies

We cooked, we dyed eggs, we made crafts, and we enjoyed a visit from Nana and Papa. It was a great Easter!

Happy Easter

Jesus is risen! We had a wonderful Easter weekend. We spent lots of time doing crafts and hunting eggs, but the most wonderful part of Easter is that Jesus is alive! Our pastor preached a wonderful sermon today about what the empty tomb means for us as believers: our lives are not futile, our mistakes are not fatal, and our death is not final. Praise the Lord!

Waiting

I hate waiting. I'm not a patient person. I'm waiting for paperwork to move through so I can go get my baby girl in China. I want my baby girl now! I'm waiting for the scales to go down faster. I want these 23 lbs. gone now! I'm waiting for my children to clean up after themselves without being reminded. I want these clothes/these toys/these dishes picked up now! God knows I hate waiting. He knows I'm not a naturally patient person. So why does He make me wait?

Romans 8:24-25 "...But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not have, we wait for it PATIENTLY."

2 Corinthians 6:6 "We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our PATIENCE, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love."

Galatians 5:22-23 "But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, PATIENCE, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."

Colossians 3:12 "Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and PATIENCE."

Self-Care That's Not So Fun

As promised in my previous post, I am now going to talk about self-care that's not so much fun. This kind of self-care involves thin...
