Planting Seeds





We planted pumpkin and corn in our cups. We'll be eagerly watching to see when they begin to sprout. We decided to plant the seeds out of reach of our dog--to find out why, check out the earlier post about planting corn. LOL

Great Grandparents



We visited my grandparents this weekend. I'm so blessed to still have the two of them in my life. I'm so thankful that my children got to spend some time with their great grandparents. :)

Making Play Dough






We made play dough in science class today. We used a simple recipe: 10 heaping tbsp. flour, 1 tsp. salt, 4 tsp. oil, and 8 tbsp. warm water. Just mix and add food coloring, if desired. We also baked our creations so we could keep them forever. The kiddos had a blast!

Yummy! We've been studying about how the early settlers made bread and butter, so we did it ourselves today. Of course, we didn't have to milk a cow or cook over fire, but it was still a lot of work! I can say the results are worth it, though--it's delicious!

Planting Corn





We planted corn today. We learned about the Pilgrims last week, and we read that Squanto told them to put fish in with the corn they planted. So, that's what we did. Hopefully the "wild animal" seen in the last picture didn't eat all of our crop! LOL
