I'm using this book as Baby Girl's spine. We'll cover one letter each week. This book includes literature ideas, crafts, songs, rhymes, worksheets, activities and recipes related to each letter of the alphabet. I think we're really going to enjoy it.

More Sonlight "Gravy"

Wow, I found this site to add even more hands-on activities to Sonlight.  I plan to let the kids choose which activities they want to do. That's one thing I love about Sonlight: they provide the wonderful literature & discussion guides, and then we get to decide whether to add in crafts, related recipes, or extras. It's a great fit for our family!

oMy children really enjoy arts and crafts, so I'm going to let them choose related activities from this book to go along with their reading. The ideas in this book are great and include countries from all over the world. And....I'm going to be brave & get messy & finally do papier mache with the kids this year! This book has some really cool papier mache projects, so I guess I've got no choice.

Composer Study

We'll be using the composer study schedule from Ambleside Online along with the books I posted for our music lessons. Looking forward to learning a lot about composers and listening to some great music.

Summer Reading

We are on a light school schedule now. That being said, however, I'm so excited about getting started with Sonlight that we may start a full schedule before August arrives! But...for now...we are enjoying a relaxing time with several good books. I've posted some of our favorites so far.
