We learned so much about owls, trees, and nature. We read several books and watched the DVD "My Side of the Mountain." We made owl cupcakes. We drew pictures of owls and trees. We've also been watching the live webcam broadcast of an owl sitting on her eggs. They are supposed to hatch tomorrow. Here's the link to the webcam: http://www.sportsmansparadiseonline.com/Live_Owl_Nest_Box_Cam.html We finished the unit by celebrating with a special dinner: chicken chili, corn muffins, and root beer floats for dessert. Another great learning experience with Five in a Row!

Your owl cupcakes are adorable! I think I am going to copy that! We are also waiting for those owl eggs to hatch!!
Go ahead--I copied the owl cupcakes from another FIAR mom. LOL It's such a great group of ladies. I love, love, love FIAR and all the other FIAR moms. :)
Absolutely love Owl Moon - when my twins were young, we would go owling on my dad's land late at night. So many good memories!! We are on our way to China to pick up our daughter - she is 6 years old.
Wow, Detra. Congrats and I hope you have a great experience in China. :)
