Homeschooling: January 2015

January was a month of mixed emotions. I had a case of the post-holiday blues. That made it hard to get back into the school routine, but we did it. On the plus side, we are still enjoying the Harry Potter Unit Study we are doing this year. Also, it's nice to get back into a routine. Here's a small peak at what we did last month:

We learned about wolves.

I used a cereal box to help Bug understand solids in math.

Bug uses the iPad for school regularly.

Bug captured raindrops.

He could easily see the different sizes of raindrops on a piece of black construction paper.

My parents gave the kids a Giga ball for Christmas. It is a BIG hit! We use it during our outside time. What a fun way to spend recess!

Bug did a science experiment. In the background, you can see our low carb, gluten free peanut butter cookies.

Here Doodles is telling Bug about the chapter she is reading in Forensic Science.

Baby Girl is "helping" Doodles with her math.

No school day is complete without a little goof off time!
