Homeschool and Life: March 3-15, 2014

We had a really good past couple of weeks. For my Five in a Row co-op class, we read A Pair of Red Clogs and learned about Japan. At home, Doodles is learning about The Renaissance, while Bug is learning about holidays, Native Americans, and the human body. Baby Girl is still working on developmental milestones, mixed in with lots of fingerplays and music. Here's a peak at our past couple of weeks:

Mason jars, droppers, water, food coloring, shaving cream...make clouds in jars. We did this for A Pair of Red Clogs in my FIAR co-op class. I got the idea here.

Doodles' math work

Bug read about Native American crafts.

Baby Girl had a birthday this past week, so we put a candle in her gluten free pancake. Her party is coming up this Saturday.

Tree that Doodles sketched.

Bug works on his sketch for nature study.

Baby Girl's picture, with lots of help from Mama (yellow sunshine, blue sky, green grass)

Bug's sketch of a tree and sky at sunset

Bug learned about the heart and circulatory system as part of his unit study. This page was included in the study.

Another included page about the circulatory system

Really cute and funny song about blood flow through the heart-to the tune of a Bruno Mars song.
